THE HOREX PAGE:
Horex Motorcycles:
Horex motorcycles were built in Germany from 1923 till 1960. Built in Homburg, the Horex motorcycles were advanced in design and significant in racing. Early bikes were singles then by the late 1930's OHC vertical twins were built.
Below is a 350cc OHV single:
The Regina series was a design success. Well built, reliable, sturdy and attractive, the Regina model was Horex's most popular series. Built from the end of the 1940's till the 1950's, the Regina's never sold well internationally but were respected as solid motorcycles.
Below is a 1936 500cc single:
Advanced for it's time yet very traditional looking.
The new Horex motorcycle:
The new Horex is a narrow angle V-6 design. At 1200cc's and turbocharged, the engine is claimed to produce between 175 and 200 horse power. It has three camshafts. The two outside cam's operate the exhaust valves and the center cam operates the intake valves. The motorcycle is a "naked" design, no doubt to take on a world market.
